U14/15 Select Tryouts

Camden County Soccer Club 15/14 and Under (Camden Force) tryouts will be held Next Wednesday, May 17th and the following Thursday May 25th at the Soccer Complex (Field to be determined) at 6:00 PM. A player wishing to tryout needs to only plan on attending one session, but is welcome to attend both if they desire.
For the seasonal Year 2017-2018, 15U players are defined as players with a birth year of 2003 and 14U players a birth year of 2004. The final age group classification of the team(s) will be determined by the number of eligible players that come to the tryouts.
The select team is a competitive team that travels throughout North Florida and well beyond in order to play at a high competitive level. Players will be expected to compete at the highest levels of play in our area. This is a competitive developmental process, not suited for players only seeking a recreational experience at this time. Players trying out should be dedicated to their development and advancement of their soccer career.
All players will be expected to make a year-long commitment to the team, and will be ineligible to transfer to other clubs or "Step Down" to the recreational level if they make the team and are subsequently registered to the team in the Affinity System.
There will be significant time commitments to participate, which will include a minimum of two practice days a week, off season training, and multiple game weekends. There will also be significant travel requirements for league games away from Camden County.
There is a basic cost of $170.00 per season ($340.00 per year) to register with this team if selected. Also, there will be an additional cost for uniform items and team wear.
In order to develop the team to play at the highest level, the team will travel attempt to do "Travel Tournaments" next year, which will require additional time and financial commitments above and beyond previously described base line training and travel. These travel commitments could require multiple overnight stays in out of state locations.
There is NO GUARANTEE FOR PLAYING TIME ON THIS TEAM. The best players will play, period. Every attempt will be made to give each player at least some time on the field every game, but this is not always feasible or possible in this competitive environment.
For tryouts players are expected to bring the following equipment:
1. Soccer Cleats. Football or Baseball Cleats or Running Shoes (unless there is an injury) will not be allowed during tryouts.
2. Shin Guards. Players without Shin Guards will not be allowed to participate.
3. PROPERLY inflated SIZE 5 Soccer ball. The coach will be there early with a ball pump, but you must request assistance PRIOR to the tryout beginning.
4. Water. This will be a strenuous try out and not a skills assessment. It is hot. Water will not be provided during this tryout.
5. Proper soccer attire. If a player is in Jeans or other non soccer attire (Athletic Shorts / T Shirt) they will not be allowed to participate.
6. A good attitude!!! Do your best. Your player will be evaluated from the moment they step on the field. Distractions will be dismissed from the tryout. Once dismissed they will not be allowed to return.
We look forward to having you try out. Keep in mind that this is a competitive team. Even if not selected, this is in no way shape or form a negative action against any child, and in no way should be considered an end to any development they may have in the future. Different kids develop at different times, and there is always another opportunity and a chance to play on a recreational team. There will be future opportunities and they should continue to work hard.
I know this sounds like a lot, but I wanted to let everyone know exactly what they are getting into and what the requirements are prior to anyone entering the process.
If you are uncomfortable with these requirements, please see the coach to discuss and he can answer any questions you may have
